Never Thought So

Image
There are things you never imagined you would ever do. But life such that you never know what turn it takes. So right after my MBA I had some free time which I thought to utilize doing something constructive, but then I got desperate. Not that the work mentioned below is inferior ,but it was just that I had never related it to myself. A person Tall, skinny built, wearing light Shirt with sleeves folded, and dark pants was standing in front addressing us. "We will be talking about great revolution in the insurance sector. So as you know Manmohan Singh was the finance minister in 2000" Silence. "Excuse me sir, but during 2000, it was an NDA government" "Was it?" "Yes" "SO what? Still Manmohan Singh was the FM" Then I interrupted. "Sir i think you must talking about 1991" "Yes yes sorry...I mean 1991" Before moving forward i want to tell you that these excerpts are from a training session that me and one my friend(from

Prince Of Persia

I owe a lot to this game. It is a name written in bold in my gaming part of my life. Me and the game Price of Persia goes a long way back. Prince of Persia(POP) was the first game I ever played. Even before solitaire, even before windows. Even when Windows was not even there. On a 386 processor (might be even a 286) on my Uncle’s laptop when he used to visit us. I was a fan of that game ever since. I have played POP 1,POP 2, then POP3d. And then got my hands on the awesome POP Sands of Time, Warrior Within and The Two Thrones (gaming currently in progress). I especially liked the fighting sequels of WW, many ways to finish off an enemy. The POP SOT,WW have a terrific storyline with lots of twists and turns, superb ending (They are even making a movie on these two...can't wait for it). Enough to get people hung on to the game. In WW you even get different ending depending on how you play the game.

Loooong booooring time

Hello all, I have been not-writing my blog since a very long time, due to many reasons, some genuine and others sounding genuine. But now I am free of all that MBA stuff and am just waiting for my joining date in TTSL. So have a lots of time to kill ( though i strictly oppose killing for fun). While I am waiting a very good friend of mine suggested writing during my “supposedly” free time. So I thought to sit back do some thinking and stop talking to that friend for a start. But any way I would love to show the world all the loony ideas that I have gathered during the decade and one more decade and another decade minus 7 years of my life. Your feedback are welcome and they would be suitably filtered and then posted on my blog thank you. Yours faithfully Piyush

First Time: Blood Donation

Image
Today I volunteered for the first time to give blood in a blood donation camp. The camp was set up by Prathama, an NGO, in our college campus. I thought I would overcome the fear of ‘first time’ very easily and I was almost there, except that my BP was 145/85. But just before I was to lie on the bed for blood transfer, a person in the room fainted and had to be given attention by the doctor. I came to know that he was a first timer. Now I was a bit scared. He might have missed a precaution that maybe I have also overlooked. Damn! why didn’t I read the instructions again this morning before coming here. I took God’s name and went ahead. Then, Dinesh and Anupam maybe sensed my fear and approached me. They talked to me all through. I felt relieved (that if I fainted, they would immediately look after me). Arnab, who was also giving blood in the bed next to me, was also a great support. I would really like to thank all of them for making it smooth.
